6/22/2023 0 Comments Typo in the group chat![]() ![]() ![]() But this dean doesn’t see it as that from the way he spoke to me. I’m scared this is the end for me and if this is the end how would I react? All my hard work gone over a typo that everyone who defended me knew it was a typo. I even have statements from my classmates saying I am innocent and this should of never dragged on how it did. Someone didn’t see my mistake as a typo and ram with it and now I’m here today full of anxiety not being able to fall asleep. I even got made fun of my situation by everyone. When I saw that I quickly apologized to everyone and mostly everyone took it and accepted my apology. My iPhone predictive text kicked in when I was typing in “mass” and it added “shooting” all by itself. It was a fun class and I was memeing at the time. This mess started all because I wrote down “mass shooting exodus” instead of “mass exodus.” I was trying to be funny with the class because it was our last week together and we’d all be in the class one last time and in the group chat so why not claim it was a mass exodus for our class since we’d probably never see each other again? After all a mass exodus is a large group of people leaving a location. I’m only 3 semesters away from graduating. I am terrified I am gonna be expelled because it felt like he already made up his mind and I don’t know how I am gonna react once it’s done. This dean is not hearing me at all and thinks I’m a child when actually I am a full grown adult. Hell the cops that where I’m charge of my case knew it was a typo and are on my side. I have no excuse as it’s clear as day it was a typo and everyone in the chat besides a couple of students knew it was a typo. I told my classmates what happened and the chat was outraged that it escalated so much over nothing.Ĭome January and yesterday on the 5th I have a meeting with the dean and he claims my typo was not typo and told me that with his 46 years of doing this that I should try harder to have an excuse. The police had a our chat log and they can tell right off the bat it was blown out of proportion and it was a decent experience considering the situation. The professor in turn contacted the local police and they paid a visit to my home while I was doing my final exam for one of my classes. I had a little incident back in December where my iPhone auto-predict added a word into a sentence and it triggered someone in our class WhatsApp group chat to contact the professor. ![]()
